This book had possibilities but geez...spellchecker and grammar checker would have caught the worst errors.Bonnets. Bonnets are not worn in the house. Those are prayer Capps and any Amish novelist should know that.
The handling of the burial was not correct either. And where was the bishop when her mother was treating her so badly.
And the Amish love interest. No Amish young man would put his arm around a girl he just met IF he was a proper young man. And this one is.
The ONLY reason it gets two stars is a unique idea but do you really think a mother would be that hateful after being sweet and loving elsewhere? I don't buy it.
This was a free book. Won't be reading any more by this author.

This was a good Christian romance. I enjoyed reading the story. I would recommend it to my family and friends.
It was different than most I've read. It was sweet & clean. The grammatical errors really bothered me as it was the same over & over---her instead of she. Bethany did learn about God's love & grace with the help of the other Amish women.
Such a sweet story about overcoming our fears. Hannah and Mark are meant for each other and I loved the scene if all the community women sharing their feelings.
This is a more serious Amish story. A young Amish woman is devastated when her very strict unloving Mother dies suddenly. Then shocked to learn that she had an English lover who only knew the Mother to be happy and loving. Confused, Bethany must decide between the Amish and English lifestyles.
I have always been interested in the Amish way of life. I am a Christian and enjoy reading about a group of Christians who have separated themselves from the Worldly ways of life in order to live a life of wholeness and love for one another. I really enjoyed this book. There were parts I felt were not grammatically correct that disturbed me, but otherwise the story seemed as if it had really happened. Thanks to the author for sharing her heart!
This was a clean story with a godly theme running through it. I would like to see the characters developed a little more and the plot was thin in places.
The biggest problem was the lack of editing. Please know the difference between set and sat and when to use her and she. Also, a compound sentence needs a comma.
The book has potential to be a very good story with some work.
Though this is written as the story of a young Amish woman, verbally abused by her unhappy mother, who needs to break free of her fear and make the most basic of choices, a godly or a secular life. Each of us must make a decision not unlike this. Will we chose a life with God or a life in the world.
